After neglecting this blog for over a year I am back! I have some news and plans for the future that I am going to share here.

Studies

I have finished my second year in my bachelor of science in computer science Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning. I did recently change my studies to Software Engineering and DevOPS though.

I still want to pursue some AI projects in my free time but my personal and career goals are more aligned to DevOPS in general. I am able to carry over 72 out of 75 ECTS so I am only losing a semester if everything works out.

Hobbies

I have picked up more 3D printers, I sold my A1 and A1 Mini, got a second X1C sold my old X1C and got the H2S. I also got a resin printer to print and paint figurines and DND miniatures (posts soon).

My new painting workstation

I also started a DND campaign with 6! other people, we are pretty new to DND but it has been a lot of fun so far, we are playing the Lost Mines of Phandelver campaign from dndbeyond.

A new hobby that I did start was playing riichi mahjong. I am mainly playing on the Mahjong Soul client but I recently started going once a month to basel where a group plays in person every saturday (https://rc-mahjong.github.io/#).

My physical fitness has been neglected over the last couple years, which is why I also started going to the gym again. My first health check/scan was quite bad so I my goal is to improve them asap. I did get a generic workout plan from the gym trainers which I am following.

Homelab

My current setup (I sold the elitedesk cluster)

Since my goal is to get into DevOPS, I "need" to improve my homelab, this means more labs and more documentation/guides on this website.

I am replacing my current Ubiquiti 24 PoE switch with the 24 PoE Max and my current old X16 Aggregation Switch with the Hi-Capacity Aggregation Switch. Why? Because I want to add 2 more MS-01 nodes and redo my proxmox cluster with ceph. The plan is to have the private and public ceph network be on separate 10GbE SFP ports and proxmox will run over the 2.5GbE NIC.

I will post the whole process of migrating my current setup to the new one here. I do have backups on my NAS so I am hoping I can create the cluster and just restore the lxc/vms one by one.

Stay tuned!
