Now for a total curveball after all theese boots.dev posts... Let's talk about Riichi Mahjong!
Even after watching and reading Akagi multiple times without knowing how to play the game, I never really had an interest in actually playing Riichi Mahjong.
I am not sure why or how but youtube started recommending me Mahjong videos around July 2025, and then at the end of July/start of August I downloaded and installed Mahjong Souls and tried playing.
I immediately liked the ranked aspect of it since it reminded me of grinding TFT (Still not 100% sure if I should start TFT again by the way). I quickly improved but also hit a few slumps but I am well on my way to Jade.
I also started playing IRL with some like minded people in Basel (and eventually Zurich). My next IRL goal will be attending some of the European Mahjong Association Tournaments (Milan and Cologne most likely).
Another reason why I want to mention Mahjong is that I do want to create some projects related to Mahjong, be it some addition to my discord bot or a log analyzing website like injusticejudge.com.
